The Mantle Edit: all the best stories from last week

We take you across Penang, into the Taipei nightlife, and to the runways of the Paris and Milan shows.

If the past few years have taught us anything, it’s that connection is more important than ever. And with the world slowly going on the mend, we’ve mostly started venturing out again to seek these connections. Tentatively, at first, but with more certainty as time goes by.

That said, we’re coming into February with a bunch of stories that take you out there: to the island of Penang, to the streets of Taipei, and to the runways of Paris and Milan. It’s good to see this optimism back on the table, and you can expect more of these stories as we head into the rest of the year.

Discovering Penang: histories and flavors create a diverse culture on the island

Mantle’s former managing editor, Regina Layug Rosero, guides us through Penang: an island where food, historical architecture, and street art meet.

IN PHOTOS: Taipei at Night

In this series of nighttime shots, Mantle Associate Editor, Gelo Dionora, takes us on a sensory journey across the city of Taipei. And while thoroughly modern, it hasn’t forgotten the cultural traditions that shaped it.

Trends, moments, and impressions from the Paris and Milan shows

Paris and Milan have always come up with fresh new looks that push the enevelope, and the latest shows didn’t disappoint. Mantle Design Director, Erick Dizon, discusses what stood out and which pieces will reign supreme from the diverse collections that hit the runways.
