The Zonta Club of Makati and Environs presents an art exhibition featuring the paintings, sculptures, and NFTs of the artist Carlos at the Power Plant Mall until November 27, 2022. The exhibition is part of the club’s “16 Days of Activism on Gender Equality.”

Founded in 1919, Zonta International is a leading global organization of executives and professionals empowering women and girls through service and advocacy. Every November 25 to December 10, Zonta marks 16 Days of Activism toward the elimination of violence against women and their children.

Meanwhile, Carlos is a painter and sculptor with a career spanning 40 years. He is best known for his use of vibrant colors, which are just as much a subject as the idyllic scenes he paints on his canvases. His work is always anchored on the joy of life. His color palette encourages his viewers to savor and relish life’s moments of beauty, romance, and love.

For this initiative, Carlos casts the spotlight on Zonta’s advocacy by showcasing several paintings and sculptures featuring women as the subject of the works. Beyond the literal and their roles in the family, which are usually depicted in art by renderings of mother and child, the artworks offer depictions in these women’s chosen lives. Some of the sculptures also touch on figurative meanings rather than literal translations of their chosen roles.

The artist will also include his NFT/crypto art in the exhibit. As an artist, he approaches crypto art not just as a means to secure ownership and provenance for the digital art he creates, but also as a medium to to tell a story that evokes joy and optimism in the viewer beyond the canvas.

In this regard, and to highlight his use of color, Carlos collaborated with artist and motion designer Isaiah Cacnio, bringing monochromatic versions of the paintings to life through choreographed colorization and animation. The crypto art pieces envelop the viewer deeper into the warmth and joy of the worlds he has created in his canvases.

The paintings, sculptures, prints, and NFT/crypto art are now available on the artist’s official website. Limited-edition fine prints will be available, packaged in gift boxes for the holidays.

Visit the exhibit at the Power Plant mall until November 27, 2022. For more information, please visit artbycarlos.com or message +639178225673.
