Father’s Day Picks from MANTLE

The folks at MANTLE list their recommendations for Father’s Day, from dad uniforms, heartfelt reads, to brand-new wheels

We are back with a diverse list of Father’s Day gift recommendations—fit for every kind of father (or father figure in your life). Check out these selections, handpicked by the folks at MANTLE.

Elevating the Dad Uniform

The Polo Shirt and Rugby Shirt are sartorial essentials that find a place in the stylish father’s wardrobe. Take cues from Zegna’s lightweight shirts in classic colors and Polo Ralph Lauren’s preppy and sporty shirts in new colorways.

Culture Fix

If your dad’s an art aficionado, get these high-quality framed posters featuring Ronan Bouroullec’s drawings. Noted for his design work, the artist translates a lifetime of learning and reflecting on the nuances of shape, proportion, color, texture, and technique on these lithography prints.

Bookworm fathers will also appreciate these novels: “A Personal Matter” by Nobel Laureate Kenzaburo Oe and “A Gesture Life” by Chang-Rae Lee.

The former narrates the story of Bird, a young father who is coming to terms with his newborn son’s severe mental disability. The latter presents the story of Doc Hata, an elderly medical supplies salesman living in the United States, who navigates everyday life while being troubled by memories of World War II and his tumultuous relationship with his adopted daughter.

The Hobbyist’s Delight

Cycling has seen an uptick in interest over the past few years, and people have been using a bike to get to work, run all sorts of errands, and go for long rides. And just this year, Tod’s and Colnago have made cycling even more appealing. The T Bike is a high-tech ride with a carbon fiber frame, and comes decked out in racing green and orange leather. It’s a good pick for a daily driver, even if you don’t end up in the Tour de France.

Who doesn’t love a good home bar? Now you can take one with you: in theory, anyway. The Prizmic and Brill Bar Trunk draws its inspiration from campaign furniture, with leather trimming, mirrors, and everything. That and it also packs up nicely. While you might not be taking it with you for trips to the beach, it’s good to know that you can. But it’s going to look perfectly fine in a safari-themed study.

With travel now back in the cards, we can finally start thinking about getting accessories to take with us again. Montblanc’s Meisterstück Selection Glacier collection fits the bill if you want something a little cooler (heh). The whole collection is themed after an ancient glacier–the Mer de Glace–and you can see this in the streaks of blues and whites in the designs. Between bags and small leather accessories (there’s even a watch if that’s what you’re dad’s into) it won’t be hard to pick something useful.

The Gift of Experience

The Back Alley Barbershop takes pride in offering grooming services that hark back to classic styles, techniques, tools, and products. What’s equally impressive is their extensive collection of local and international culture magazines, from PURVEYR to Monocle. Not only will you get a fresh cut, but you’ll walk out with an enriched mind as well.

Finally, for a filling gastronomic experience on Father’s Day, get a reservation at Raging Bull. Nothing makes Father’s Day more special than enjoying a variety of prime beef cuts, from dry-aged beef to grain and grass-fed beef.
