Featuring the in-demand Serpenti collection and the record-breaking Octo Finissimo, the famed Italian jewelry house offers an escape to a world of elegance and heritage.
It’s been seven years since Bulgari released the Octo Finissimo. Since then, the sleek watch has garnered seven world records for thinness. (Yes, that’s one per year.) The most recent iteration—the Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar—impresses with an automatic movement that’s just 2.75 mm and a case that’s 5.80 mm thick.
Rightfully so, this record-setting watch was shown to us at Bulgari’s second Manila boutique store at Greenbelt 3, which opened last October 15. It joins several other Bulgari classics across jewelry, accessories, and other watches, as well as a few Manila exclusives that can only be found in the new opulent space.
As presented during their virtual tour of the space last November 23, the luxury brand pulled out all the stops to make the boutique as extravagantly Italian as it can get, beginning with the Travertino Navona round columns flanking the entrance, Bois Jourdan marble, apricot-colored furnishings, and earth tones that bring to mind Roman landscapes and sunscapes.
Linking the Greenbelt 3 boutique with other Bulgari stores globally is the Via Condotti eight-pointed star, which symbolizes the saying, “all roads lead to Rome”. Rendered in red porphyry, the star is a focal point from which patrons can see all the major sections within the area, including galleries for ladies’ jewelry, ladies and men’s watches and jewelry, accessories, and bridal jewelry.
At the rear end of the shop, VIPs are entertained at an oval, private sales room inspired by ‘50s and ‘60s Hollywood stars, including Elizabeth Taylor, who went to Rome to film their classic movies.
The store follows the concept and artistic direction of celebrated American architect Peter Marino, who has partnered with Bulgari, among many other luxury brands, in reinterpreting the architectural and aesthetic heritage of ancient Rome into contemporary design.
Marino’s touch can also be seen with the choices of furniture that pay tribute to the tradition of Italian design, such as the Mangiarotti table, Oswaldo Borsani sofas. Adorning the center of the store is a crystal chandelier that shines above the Serpenti and Fiorever Jewelry Collection, among other featured gems.
