Ducati commemorates its 916 with a new limited edition

Speed, performance, and beauty: the 916 had it all.

Meet the Panigale V4 25° Anniversario 916: a silver-anniversary limited edition superbike that commemorates the distinguished Ducati 916 launched in 1994.

True Ducatisti know the 916 well. Even non-fans might recognize it, thanks to how much news it made in the mid-1990s. It’s renowned not just for winning more than a hundred races and a handful of prominent titles—especially paired with legendary English racer Carl Fogarty—but for its distinctive good looks, too.

The Panigale V4 25° Anniversario 916 carries forward that legacy of performance and handsomeness with a few contemporary improvements here and there. Nothing that would upset a purist, but enough to mark the newcomer as a product of a more advanced time.

Ducati reports that the 25° Anniversario 916 iterates on the mechanics of the Panigale V4 S with Panigale V4 R upgrades: the Ducati Corse-spec Front Frame, the Ducati Quick Shift EVO 2, and Ducati Traction Control EVO 2, all packaged in carbon fiber and billet aluminum components.

This is no aging machine: it’s absolutely a child of 2019.

As for the look, the 25° Anniversario 916 rocks forged magnesium Marchesini Racing wheels and a titanium type-approved Akrapovič exhaust, with an overall color scheme inspired by the Ducati 996 SBK.

Only 500 of these debonair units will ever exist, complete with authenticity certificates. One in particular, #5, will not be sold: instead it will be auctioned off in memory of the late Carlin Dunne, the Spider Grips Ducati team rider who recently died at Pikes Peak.
