Penfolds and Thiénot collaborate to bring you three Champagnes

Got something to celebrate? How about some bubbly?

Traveling anytime soon? If you find yourself in Sydney, you might want to pick up some champagne before you head home.

For their 175th anniversary, Australian winemaker Penfolds has announced a collaboration with French Champagne House Thiénot.

Three Champagnes, from the 2012 vintage, have been created: a Chardonnay Pinot Noir Cuvée, and two single vineyard wines: a Blanc de Blancs and a Blanc de Noirs with the Penfolds imprint.

The first of the Champagne releases, 2012 Champagne Thiénot x Penfolds Chardonnay Pinot Noir Cuvée, will be available exclusively at Heinemann Tax & Duty Free Sydney from June 2019. But if Sydney isn’t in your itinerary, you will eventually find it in selected airport locations around the world.

The other two Champagnes, the 2012 Champagne Thiénot x Penfolds Blanc de Blancs (Avize Grand Cru) and the 2012 Champagne Thiénot x Penfolds Blanc de Noirs (Aÿ Grand Cru), will be released in 2020.

It may be a little grand for a first date. But if you’re ready to propose, a bottle of champagne might come in handy.
